About Sandy

A Cornerstone in the Tennessee Llama Community for over 25 years

When I’m not enjoying coffee or a Margarita on my front porch overlooking a spectacular mountain view, I’m a llama-loving enthusiast. Having built, managed and operated one of the top llama hiking companies in Tennessee, I started The Wandering Llamas to help visitors enjoy hiking with llamas and glamping in style in the Smoky Mountains.  I’ve even been called “The LlamaMama” by the locals, and I’m here to keep outdoor adventures alive and well for the folks who find themselves living or traveling around the East Tennessee area.

My Story

In my younger years, working in Miami, I chauffeured a stretch limo for celebrities and VIP's, such as Will Smith, Stevie Nicks, Pink Floyd, Jennifer Lopez, Tony Curtis, Elton John, Phyllis Diller and many more! It was an exciting time, but something was missing in my life.

During one of my vacations in Tennessee, I fell in "LlamaLlove" after hiking with llamas. I fell in love with the hills of Tennessee and its' shear beauty. I immediately decided to move to the Smoky Mountains and start my own llama-hiking company.

Now, after 25 years of memorable hikes with many wonderful customers, I share my life with my 12 cats and a herd of 17 llamas—quite the lifestyle change  from the Miami city-life and I wouldn't trade it for the world!
